As fifteenth president of Florida Southern College, Dr. Robert A. Davis began his leadership role in 1976 when Dr. Thrift retired. Also an ordained Methodist minister, Dr. Davis continued to keep the United Methodist values a central part of the curriculum and campus life. While the college added additional academic space over the next 18 years and celebrated its centennial in 1985, Dr. Davis remained committed to providing a strong financial base and fiscal stability for the college.

Dr. Thomas L. Reuschling began leading Florida Southern to the next level in 1994 as the colleges sixteenth president. Under his direction, enrollment regained strength, and several buildings were added to the campus — the result of a successful $60 million capital campaign. Florida Southern has consistently been recognized nationally as an institution of quality and value. Dr. Reuschlings leadership has continued the colleges economic growth, academic reputation, and regional leadership in numerous areas including the arts and athletics.
